Steve Phillips has had an interest in health, fitness and healing from an early age. While pursuing a career in teaching, which led him to live overseas for nine years and to travel extensively, he developed an interest in alternative methods of healing. In 1985, he gave up his teaching career and began his studies of Oriental medicine. He has studied acupuncture and herbal medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico; at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California; and at Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Han Zhou, China. Steve speaks frequently to groups about acupuncture and alternative medicine. He is conversant with traditional and modern techniques of acupuncture therapy, as well as trigger point therapy and myofascial release. Steve has over 23 years of clinical experience, and has personally conducted over 68,000 acupuncture treatments. He has been practicing acupuncture in Sacramento for the past 21 years.
